In the land where Sachin Tendulkar is considered GOD, one might receive weird looks at their phrase “I love football”, and “I’m sorry, I don’t like cricket” might just get u killed. </div>

But what a lot of people don’t know is that football fan base is growing at an alarming rate! We don’t go out on weekend evenings, for we might miss out on the EPL action! The stats, fixtures, standings….u name it and we know it all!! There are times when we can predict the match results way better than the football pundits on ESPN do. We stay up late, all the way up to 3 in the morning to watch the ‘el-classico’ or a UEFA fixture between Bayern Munich and Manchester United.</div>

 It’s amazing how many sleepless faces you find discussing the ‘last night’s match’, red eyed with sleep deprivation we might be, but we’ve got all the energy in the world to mock the opposite team followers, oh yes! This happens in India too! Al though rare, we find ourselves flocking around with birds of the same feathers. We abuse when they miss a goal and cry when we lose a crucial match…its personal, it isn’t just a game. It’s our religion. </div>

Girls are no longer bimbo heads when it comes to sports, we follow and PLAY football as well, with equal interest and madness. We stay up late and might even smack you for ridiculing off the game we love, the club or country we look up to or the player we admire. </div>

<i><u>Throughout</u></i><i> my schooling, I was an introvert. Books were my everything. 'Bookworm' was the word that perfectly described me. My friends and teachers knew me as an introvert. But like everyone's life has a turning point. A day comes in everyone's life when one has to face their fears.</i></div>

<i>When I was in my X standard, there was a competition conducted called 'Ms. and Master DAV'. Not many from my group were participating, so my teacher told me that I had to participate for sure. I was nervous! I bought a nice saree, matching accessories and started my preparation. The first round was ramp walk, the part I feared the most! I was terrified by the thought of walking between so many audience!</i></div>

<i>Finally the day I feared came. Fully nervous, I went to he school. All the other participants were really confident about their preparation. Our teacher came and handed us chits indicating who has to go in what position. I picked up a chit. And guess what? To my horror, I was on position 1! My hands froze. I went blank!</i></div>

<i>I closed my eyes for a few moments and told myself everything was going to be alright. As I opened my eyes, I saw a big crowd staring at me! I told myself, 'Beta ji! Jo hoga dekha jayega! Kood jao maidan me!' </i>I walked through the audience and went onto the stage.</div>

I took a glance at the audience. Everyones eyes were glued at me! <i>Bass</i><i>, </i><i>paseene</i><i> </i><i>choot</i><i> </i><i>gaye</i><i>! </i>I took the mike and somehow managed to introduce myself to the audience and judges. I felt a sense of relief!</div>

It was then that I realised that it was all over! There was nothing more to be feared about. That moment, I realised a truth. A truth that helped me build myself.</div>

There is nothing called 'Stage fear'. The moment you decide to brush aside all your fears, there is no worm called 'fear' in your mind. Once you realise this fact, there's nothing to stop you from achieving what you want to!</div>
